Overview

Hungay was founded durring the early 18th century in early fall of the year 1722, by Caw̄̄ Mb̪vé̄b 'Raven Amber' Yawmé̄r Yawmē̄ Cawmér Fyeshe Cruse. The establishment of Hungay was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Hungay 's construction back out of the project. Caw̄̄ Mb̪vé̄b 'Raven Amber' Yawmé̄r Yawmē̄ Cawmér Fyeshe Cruse pushed on reguardles, and Hungay was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Hungay was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 18th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Hungay is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Hungay is buildings are arranged arround a single restrictive baked earthen mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Hungay 's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Hungay has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Hungay ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. On top of this is an unmistakable feeling that Hungay is in this condition because there is something terribly wrong with the town. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Hungay long.

Cultural Notes

Hungay 's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

In Hungay snow is warm to the touch and does not melt within city limits. Also it only happens during summer.

Points of Interest

Hungay has a conflict with a neighboring community. This usually isn't part of a larger war, but is instead a personal animosity between them. It may be the community has suffered at their enemy's hands, or they may have been the ones applying the suffering. Constant low-level skirmishes and trouble making go on between the two.

Due to a magical anomaly, Hungay is directly accessible from a nearby river, despite the lack of a physical connection between the town's pond and the river.
